Product Review:Disney’s Lip Smackers

On my recent makeup haul I discovered a few gems in hidden places. One of these is the Disney’s Tsum Tsum Lip Smackers!

smackers

I am so in love with them. They are a set of four collectible lip balms including your favorite characters: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie The Pooh, and Stitch. Each of them are sold separately and retail from $4.95 to $6.95 at Target, Walmart, Walgreen’s, CVS, or etc. On my research for more of these lip smackers I have found that they sell the whole collection on Amazon up to $45.00 which is absolutely ridiculous when you can collect all four about twenty dollars so just make sure to check on your local stores before heading there.

I really hope that Disney will expand their line Tsum Tsum Lip Smacker line with a variety of characters including the Disney villains. As far as the product itself I love how smooth it glides on, it gives a nice shine,  a little hint of color, and moisture to my lips. The scent and flavoring of each lip smacker is another fun addition that really completes the whole package. You can also stack each character on top of the other after you are done using them if you would like. To open just twist off the bottom and apply as many time as you want then twist it back on very carefully so your lip balm doesn’t chip. I feel the design and the concept is genius its a little heavier than your regular lip balms but offers a generous amount. Definitely worth the buy if you are a true Disney lover who wants something that its unique and best of all  that is cruelty free (no animal tested product). I think they are not only cute but a lot of fun to collect, and stack. This is a fun collection for everyone to enjoy no matter how old you are. Each character has their own themed flavors according to their characteristics.

Flavors

  • Mickey – Marshmallow Pop
  • Minnie — Strawberry Lollipop
  • Pooh — Honey Pot
  • Stitch — Blueberry Wave

Rainbow Eyes

This makeup was inspired by nature and God’s word in the scripture as my daily Bible verse of the day popped up on my phone screen.

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature with you, for everlasting generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth . . . and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.” Genesis 9:12-13

Makeup is all about self expression and when it comes to bright colors I go wild with it, no limitations at all.  I love to go bold and dramatic once in a while, and today was one of those days.

rainbow 1

STEP 1:

Starting off with .M.A.C. PREP + PRIME Fixator I sprayed all over my face and let it sit for a few seconds before applying my Wet n Wild Coverall Correcting Palette which is basically concealers to cover up all those blemishes, dark circles, or unwanted spots.Side Note: I love concealers since they have a thicker composition than foundation specially if they are high pigmented for better long lasting coverage. Then I used from Sephora’s Signature Collection 10 Hr wear Perfection Foundation  which is oil free  and it its has a medium coverage in clair light 23 shade. I find that its amazing because it doesn’t feel heavy on my face and it controls my oily skin providing a good amount of coverage and its not too expensive.

STEP 2

On my lids I apply just a touch of Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion; this will create a great long lasting crease free base for your eyeshadow providing high pigmented look all day. For my look I used high pigmented eye shadows from BH Cosmetics in the Second Edition 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette. Starting from the outside corners of my eyes I used the following colors of eyeshadow: purple blending into  blue and green on my left eye. Meanwhile on my right eye from the outside in I used fuchsia, orange, and yellow.

Using my Toki Doki Brushes  I dabbed my brushed on each color one by one, cleaning my brush  in between as I did each color differently I normally clean it with Sephora’s Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner. This will help to keep your eye shadow palette last longer clean from the debris of the other colors. Then I used my blending brush to blend out the creme shade above the eye and the white highlighting under the arch of my brows.  The same way you color your lids, repeat the same colors at the bottom of your water line.

STEP 3

Apply the black NYX Studio Liquid Liner along your top lid from the inside out for a perfect wide cat eye like Adele’s.  Then apply any regular black or colored eyeliner at the waterline the rest. Then apply Ulta’s black Legendary Lengths Lengthening Mascara on your top and bottom lashes.

Step 4

Add your choice of contouring (optional)

Apply your choice of setting powder; I personally use MAC Studio Fix Powder which is both a powder / foundation pigmented. Because it gives that nice matte airbrushed effect and it really prevents any oils during the day. BEST BUY

Apply NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Sandstorm start by outlining your lips a little from the outside of your regular lips for a fuller look and work your way in. You can always add an ombre effect by adding darker or lighter shade in the middle (optional).

Finish off by spraying .M.A.C.’s Prep and Prime Fix. This will keep your makeup last for long hours during the day all the way till night time. Depending on how much you sweat its always a good idea to reapply setting powder here and there. But for the most part it will keep your eyeshadow and eyeliner from running everywhere.  BEST BUY if you really love not having to reapply your eyeshadow all the time.

There you go! How easy was that! If you give this look a try, make sure you give this post a thumbs up and share with your friends. Make sure to hashtag #rainbowtopchartsbabe and tag me @evetzie_styles on Instagram! 😀 I would love to give you a like back.

A letter from the heart

As most of you know I work in the entertainment and fashion industry. As I sat in my studio today designing, and also working in other projects I got a little frustrated and had to stop. Breath some fresh air and continued what i was working on. As you all know music is one of my biggest passions but as I karaoke my heart out to new music from my favorite singers it hit me people don’t value any kind of artistry very much. Which is something that I have always felt deep inside my heart and I know cause I have seen it first hand. I have helped, worked, seen start up artist’s, musicians, painters, writers, designers, and etc like myself struggle in the midst of our passions and career.

UntitledBliss

So when people complain about paying a certain price for like a concert ticket, design, or anything creative and artistic it makes me want to  tell them to go to neverland and never come back. Do you know how hard are the struggles for a person that loves and has a passion for any kinds  art or any musical artistry. Which is why I believe with all my heart we should give credit when credit is due. So before you speak to me ever about how ridiculous it is for something like music, design, or art to be so expensive remind yourself all these things I will mention next.

As an artist one the financial cost : You have to pay everything yourself including being your own manager, promoter, everything when you are starting out. You really make close to nothing;it takes a while to start getting all the goods. And by “a while” I don’t mean a few months. It could take years and years until someone else in labels or talent managers see your vision. It takes studio time  which are not cheap, recording, producing, editing, mastering and more. Once you have made it touring is expensive a whole crew from loading, production, wardrobe, dancers, riggers, traveling, Visas, Passports, Insurances, all the legal aspect of  it too, and so much more you can’t begin to even wrap your head around it all. There’s so much more not to even mention when it comes to recording sessions, rehearsals, planning, songwriting, record labels, promoting team, royalties. Plus during the tour life the crew in the arena listen to the stage and technical managers to work on trusses  which what hold all of the lights, speakers, and pyros sometimes takes about 30 local workers, 4 tour riggers, and with very limited hours for example 5 or less to accomplish everything before the show starts. Staging has to be assembled piece by piece. You have screens that have to be hung in flawless placements. All of the technical detail features for the band. Last minute sound check before every show all in less than a day and hours for a perfect show. This is not including all the other backstage chaos and crew that is behind the scene, on or off stage, runners, costume designers, assistants, makeup artist’s, hair stylist, wardrobe specialists, seamstresses, dancers, management, special guests, other bands, security team, and etc.  So much planning, efforts, emotional, and budgeting goes into every album, every tour, everything artist do. It takes a whole team not just the lead singer or solo artist to make a show or album what it is. That is why royalties are so important and are rights that artist’s fight for when it comes to  streaming platforms that make things free to people but then the people who are working their asses for it don’t really see a cent from it and its not fair.

Two as a designer  that is art as well you can’t expect something that is one of a kind unique or amazing craftmanship for a low budget. Chanel, Alexander Mcqueen, all these great designers and even your local designers at home that work independently did not work their asses off their whole life tailoring, draping, workshops,  and etc  to get paid like department store. Not happening! While in tour life you also have from prop designers, costume designers, choreographers, stage managers all of these amazing individuals that come together as a team to make everything happen.

Three: Painters, Dancers, Poets, Writers, Actors are all amazing at what they do and deserve the same of respect as every other career out there. We do it, because we love it and we cannot see ourselves doing anything else but it. Any kind of art you should embrace it and it should make you move whether its your soul, your style, or whatever fancies you. But don’t ever let it die. Support your local artist they are the ones that needed the most. And support songwriters and locals that are starting up because that is the hardest part of all. Not when you are already successful and selling out arenas.

To all of those who are starting out and even note to self at times is never give up, believe in the power of your dreams, and everything comes at perfect timing no matter how many time the iron strikes hot. To the world changers!!

love always,

AMERICAN PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION MAKES IT OFFICIAL: ‘SELFIE’ A MENTAL DISORDER

Mona Lisa selfie

About a couple of months ago there was a fake article published online which many people took to heart. The article basically claimed that The American Psychiatric Association (APA) had officially confirmed that taking ‘selfies’ was a mental disorder during its annual board of directors meeting in Chicago. The disorder was named “selfitis” and was defined as the obsessive compulsive desire to take photos of one’s self  and post them on social media as a way to make up for the lack of self-esteem and to fill a gap in intimacy. Though there was no cure there was a temporary treatment available through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is covered under Obamacare. Yup you read that right.

The three levels of selfitis according to this article were:

  • Borderline selfitis : taking photos of one’s self at least 3 times a day but not posting them on social media
  • Acute selfitis: taking photos of one’s self at least 3times a day and posting each of the photos on social media
  • Chronic selfitis: Uncontrollable urge to take photos of one’s self  round the clock and posting the photos on social media more than 6 times a day.

|

Now my question for you is will “Selfitis” be a future disorder?

beautifull💞

Though this article may have been claimed as fake with the way our generations are so active and dependent on social media, pop culture idols, and trends could we or are we already heading in that direction.  If you think about it we have all been brainwashed at certain point  and played a huge part into what we know as selfies. We have to document a night out, what you ate, what’ youre doing, what you are planning to do its a constant natural thing to do now from the time you wake up to the time that you go to sleep. We are most active on social platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and etc. It’s not that is a bad thing to do but how far can the selfie obsession go? For God sakes we already  have to have our selfie sticks in hand.

I am a constant Instagram uploader myself  and its addicting. I don’t post photos of myself all of the time sometimes I upload quotes, music, celebrities, and other things but it is an addictive almost consuming. So guilty as charged haha but at the same time its like subsconcious thing though I do it for the fun of it all. As I let my mind sink in these questions I started to observe the social behaviors and body language of how the people around me as well as on my social media platforms acted. How many times did they took selfies each day? How many did they upload that day? How many selfies did they took before they actually chose one to their preference to upload? Why did they choose not keep the other selfies before that? How did it affect them emotionally? Were they mad at how they looked, did they find it pretty, ugly, double chin, lighting? What?

We are part of the problem. 😕The truth is after all the observation I gathered my conclusion is  that is not a mental disorder per say. Its more of a society mental disorder. The way society are trying to follow trends and make trends happen its ridiculous its like if you don’t follow everyone’s step into what is hot then you are an outsider. Peer pressuring people into join these platforms where you have to prove yourself to others. (Ex.hey i can be better than you or i can do the same as you by posting things from your daily life). You may agree to disagree and I completely understand that but it really opened my eyes  to the fact that we focus so much on the selfish selfies we take wether we do it because we say its for ourselves but in reality we are  trying to somehow seek the praising (approval) from others when honestly don’t have to. It has become a cultural phenomenon  as human we desire—to feel noticed, appreciated and recognized. It all comes down to individual’s self esteem and are you going to keep taking selfies to that new level where it will take over of who you are as a person. Will we move forward as individuals to live life to the fullest without having to feel the need to be approved for all the time. Be confident and focus on having fun and trust that you are worth more than a thousand selfies and other’s like, comments, follows or etc.

So are we Selfie Mental Disorder or True “Selfies”?

Stay happy, positive vibes, and love much. #loveyour(self)first

Music Festivals Ban Selfie Sticks

festival

Anyone who has been to a music festival knows maintaining personal space is not an option. Trust me I can tell you from personal experiences where I have gotten shoved, walked on almost, and thrown sideways thanks to the people fighting next to me. Like seriously can’t we just enjoy the damn music?

Well speaking of getting your personal space invaded by idiots, this summer’s most highly anticipated music festivals are taking a stand against selfie sticks. Both Coachella and Lollapalooza are banning selfie sticks and other GoPro attachments. Australia’s Soundwave Festival and several UK music venues including the O2 Arena, SSE Wembley Arena and O2 Academy Brixton have also joined in agaisn’t selfie sticks.

festival

Too bad they won’t do the same at theme parks here in Orlando. Seriously every five steps there is someone with a selfie stick stopping in the middle of your pathway taking a group selfie….wait for it… vacation groups of 30 or more. Yup! So if you are planning on going to any of these huge music festivals make sure to read what you are allowed in and time to take your old school camera and selfies. Although you can choose to actually pay attention for your money’s worth to every performance that hits the stage instead of taking photos of your flower crown and Kylie Jenner’s lips.

Kylie

Listen I love selfie sticks when I am with a group of friends hanging out but a couple of minutes not as a whole day thing. Now I love the idea of having a selfie stick or a GoPro for concerts and festivals if you are really short like me and you can’t see crap. But at the same time I understand how annoyed I get when I have someone in front or behind me with a selfie stick in small amount of personal space. I feel invaded and with the amount of heat we get here in Orlando on the summer time I would hate to be in a music festival with sweaty people touching my skin as they take a selfie. Imagine trying to enjoy a performance by Hozier or Fall Out Boy and have someone in front of you with a selfie stick in the middle of your favorite performances not letting you enjoy watching your singers or bands. I would and will throw a fit with how expensive these tickets are, are you kidding?  And the reasoning for this action :selfie sticks obscured the view for other people in the crowd, noting the increased amount of sticks in the crowd in music festivals. Like some people like to call them selfish sticks.  Because they make you take up a lot more space in a crowded place than you should invading other people’s personal space.

What are your thoughts?

[LISTEN TO THIS] London Grammar

16/03/3015

London Grammar is a British band leaded by vocals from Hannah Reid, keyboard Dot Major and guitarist Dan Rothman. The band’s sound comes off as secretiveness, quietly dramatic, and almost haunting very easily compared to Florence and The Machine.  Hannah’s strong vocals are full of power yet gentle enough to make you feel the power behind each word of their lyrics.  Their tracks are as song-like as they are showcases for gentle digital rhythms. Their songs are based on the raw emotions of life experiences collaborated by all three band members. Their album “If You Wait” was released September 10, 2013 in the .U.S.A. and it debuted at number two the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 33,130 copies. Meanwhile in 2015 it peaked at 91 in the .U.S. Billboard.

Starbucks .V.S. Music Revolution

As most of my Instagram followers would know I am a full time Starbucks lover and I promise I don’t even get paid for anything, I just really do love it. From their delicious frappuccinos, coffee, logo and of course design aesthetic and ambience. What in the world is there not to love about it besides the expensive amount of money you’re getting in a cup of coffee? 😉

929244_345373142323629_2023940174_n

Anyways, unless you live under a rock and you’ve never been inside of any Starbuck’s well let me tell you that they also sell breakfast, packaged snacks, lunches, and music… not to mention your’e missing out on some really good frapps.

starbucksingrid

I love that they give you a FREE download card for Itunes with the “Pick Of The Week” with the artist they are promoting at that time. They also sell EP’s or CD’s however you want to call them, and being Starbucks yes sometimes they are a little bit overpriced but I still got a copy of the fabulous Ingrid Michaelson’s “LIGHTS OUT” album. I also enjoyed the fact that it was a coffee shop that still represented the more music lover inspired open minded people who would say im gonna by a record and still feel like a physical experience.

card

Fun Fact: Did you know that the first CD the store offered was back in 1994, by Kenny G?

Well, as much as I love technology and I love the fact that you can download things straight to your laptop and have a library that can hold thousands of songs on your IPod, I still am very much old school too. I love being able to buy actual vinyl records, casette’s, and cd’s. Just like I still hold on to VHS movies and home made videos even if you can’t tell almost what the image is. Okay maybe I am taking a little too literal right there, but the point is that I really love the experience of being able to have physical copies in my hand of the music that I love listening to.

vinyls

Why get rid of the CDs? Well apparently Starbuck’s is trying to “evolve” its music offerings.  Though they say that they will stay in the music business digitally, I feel like it won’t be the same experience as it used to be. For some of you just walk in straight for your coffee but for other people like me, we would check out what they had new in stock while we got our order and sit down as we enjoyed our frapp. The music was always an added value when in came to Starbucks as when it first originally started their “discovering” artists for their customers to listen to.  I understand that with how fast technology is constantly changing companies and society will always want the latest and best trends as part of growing and evolving.  But sometimes by changing one thing you are really limiting the next generation to come of enjoying some of the greatest life experiences from the past.

By the way did you know that you can now get the “ARIANA GRANDE” Starbuck’s Frapp.  Thanks to the lovely Loryn Brantz at Buzzfeed for the recipe and idea. I really have to go try this frapp while I listen to “One Last Time” on my car.

How to order:

  • Start with a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino w/ Raspberry Syrup (aka the Cotton Candy Frappuccino)
  • Add extra mocha syrup
  • Add extra mocha chips
  • Blend
  • Top with extra whipped cream
  • Finish with a generous caramel drizzle

HHN 24 in Review

I love when October comes around because that only means one massive thing for me Halloween Horror Nights or as we call it here in Orlando HHN. I was really excited this year because even though they had Walking Dead again, they also had a Halloween Housed based on Michael Myers which is one of my all time favorite classic characters. Unfortunately I had the chance to only go to four out of the eight houses due to the amount of waiting time. I would love to go again so I could experience the other four houses. I love HHN because I love the adrenaline I feel when I walk through the Houses and the Scare Zones to see the amount of creativity and work they put in.

Best GNO

WELCOME to HHN 24 2014 at Universal Studios Orlando, FL. {My OOTD: Black Crop Top Dots, Highwaisted Denim Jeans- Lane Bryant,Black Vans, Red/ Black Plaid Shirt Target, Brown Bag Charlotte Russe, Ray Ban Aviators, 90’s choker Urban Outfitters, and Red Under top Forever 21. This year was I was definitely not as impressed as I have been in previous years when it come to the Scare Zones. Honestly, I felt they lacked more actors, and they should have spread the Scare Zones throughout the park.  The Face Off scare zone was very interesting and intriguing it really is a really great photo opportunity area to take selfies, and photos with very unique creatures.

The Purge scare zone was really cool as far the main actor they had who was dressed in a business suit with a microphone basically inviting you in to the purge and talking to guest and creeping them out. This part was cool because it reminded me of the movie I just wish they had more scare actors in your face making you want to run the opposite ways. The voodoo scare zone was pretty vague, and nothing really scary just a little fog and nothing really worth screaming for.

Classic Babes in line ready for the Walking Dead House ❤

Meanwhile, the houses were the main aspect of where Universal used its budget at, as well as the costuming, special effect makeup, and other special effects to make them incredible well at least some of them. From worst to best out of the four houses I went to personally goes like this:

4.) Aliens .V.S. Predators

Pro’s: Awesome Costuming Effects on.

Con’s: Was not scary at all. No one screamed, no one jumped, it was so easy to walk through, annoying exit route having to bend under a little tunnel.

3.) Halloween Michael Myers

Pro’s: It was awesome so many Michael Myers popping out and a surprise ending I won’t ruin,

Con’s: The line of 105 minutes was not worth it honestly though.

2.) From Dusk Till Dawn

Pro’s: Keeps you jumping and on your toes and very close to the TV version of the show.

Con’s: I wish it would have been a longer walk through or bigger house for this.

1.) Walking Dead: Prison

Pro’s: So amazing from the moment you walk in and out of it. Definitely messes with your head which makes you more vulnerable to the unexpected scare actors, and the makeup effects were pretty darn scary. Walkers everywhere so beware! Definitely the best Walking Dead house so far in HHN.

Con’s: The flashing lights blinded the f*ck out of me and I almost ended up in a cage full of walkers.

The Housed I missed were: Roanoke – Cannibal Colony, Giggles & Gore Inc, Dollhouse of the Damned, and Dracula Untold- Reign of Blood.  😦

Now from my friends point of view who have attended the other four houses they have loved the clown house, and the doll house even better. They say those were pretty scary because the make up effects, and costuming were quite horrifying and they kept popping everywhere. These two houses the time I went had the less wait time so I would say if you want to make two houses that are really quick in time these would be it. I advise that you do Halloween, and Walking Dead first because the wait time are so ridiculous from 105 minutes and up. Obviously the Rocky Horror Picture Show was great, and Bill and Ted’s Experience was not as fun as other years it lacked material, it was only funny because of Nicki Minaj, and Disney’s Frozen as well as their magic band, and the rest was just kind of pushed in your face to make you laugh and it really wasn’t even funny. But the actors were good so I give them that.  If you do go to either HHN24 in Hollywood or Universal Orlando I want to hear from you. I want to know which were you favorite houses, and scare zones. And what did you like least?

Love,

E
