London Grammar is a British band leaded by vocals from Hannah Reid, keyboard Dot Major and guitarist Dan Rothman. The band’s sound comes off as secretiveness, quietly dramatic, and almost haunting very easily compared to Florence and The Machine. Hannah’s strong vocals are full of power yet gentle enough to make you feel the power behind each word of their lyrics. Their tracks are as song-like as they are showcases for gentle digital rhythms. Their songs are based on the raw emotions of life experiences collaborated by all three band members. Their album “If You Wait” was released September 10, 2013 in the .U.S.A. and it debuted at number two the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 33,130 copies. Meanwhile in 2015 it peaked at 91 in the .U.S. Billboard.
They are currently on tour there are two shows left from their 2015 concerts:
July 17 at the Melt Festival in Grafenchainichen, Germany.
July 19 at Vielle Charrues in Carhaix, France.
And if you can’t wait to get your hands on their album here are some of the US Links for you:
Special-US edition ‘If You Wait’ out now.

New Zealand’s The X Factor judges, Natalia Kills and Willy Moon, were let go from the show after bullying contestant Joe Irvine on the show Sunday night. Wow did Natalia Kills really disappointed me with her actions but her husband not so much you can tell he has an ego. Yes I called him out because its true. She must be blindly in love. Who would have thought such a beautiful talented singer would be so dark, evil, and a bully?
Joe performed “Cry Me A River” on the show looked super handsome and delivered a beautiful performance. But not everyone’s likes apparently as the British singer Natalia called him a doppelganger of her husband Willy and attacking the contestant with her words as I quote:
“As an artist who respects creative integrity and intellectual property, I am disgusted at how much you have copied my husband, from the hair to the suit,” she said. “Do you not have any value or respect for originality? You’re a laughingstock. It’s cheesy, it’s disgusting. I personally found it absolutely artistically atrocious I am embarrassed to be sitting here having to even dignify you with an answer of my opinion”
Meanwhile her husband and fellow judge also joined in adding fuel to the fire with comments like “To me it feels a little bit cheap and absurd. I mean you’re like Norman Bates dressing up in his mother’s clothing its just a little bit creepy and I feel like you’re going to stitch someone skin to your face and the kill everybody in the audience BUT do you!
Where to Natalia added “I am going to say it it was absolutely disgusting. You have no identity I’m ashamed to be here”
” I think you look good because you’re dressed like my husband” to which by this point Mel another one of the judges was the only one to intervene and defend Joe. Joe on the other hand received support from famous superstars Lorde, Ed Sheeran, and many more. Of course his amount of supporters throughout the world also escalated quite quickly. Later Natalia apologized for her actions blaming the production staff for making up controversy and dialogue for ratings. The couple fled New Zealand right after the show and leaving everyone to wonder who would replace them. Due to the amount of controversy aroused MediaWorks who is the broadcaster that airs X Factor and its Chief Executive Mark Weldon announced the two’s departure from the show Monday in a statement to New Zealand’s The Hits.
The statement released reads:
“Contestants put their all into this competition and they should expect to receive feedback and criticism that is professional and constructive,” he said. “We no longer have confidence that Kills and Moon are the right people to perform the role of X Factor judges and they will leave the show, effective immediately.”
The new judges added to the panel are Australian recording artist, actress, and television personality Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Shelton Woolright drummer of British rock band I AM GIANT. Here is to wishing the best of luck to both judges, all of the contestants, and may the best one win. Remember to have ZERO tolerance for bullies they can come in all shapes, sizes, and apparently in singers who are so talented but so ugly inside.
See the whole controversy on the video below:
South by South West (SXSW) is the annual film, music, and interactive festival in Austin, Texas which showcases the best, and newest talents industry who are looking for their “big break.” Think Coachella but even better cause you can check out other artistry in the film and interactive aspects of the industry. The music festival it has over two thousand two hundred acts that perform over hundred of different stages throughout the week. More than likely they have a large amount of followers and just being able to perform at this mainstream event allows them to connect with fans at a larger scale. Here are a few of the ladies in the music industry who are rocking the charts right now, and are a few of my favorite singers. So if you haven’t check them out yet please do so!

A lot of things lately have been triggering me to come forward and write this post because after reading some tweets Kelly Clarkson has recently received some really deep and cruel criticism on her weight from controversial British TV personality Katie Hopkins. Hopkins recently took to her Twitter earlier this year after seeing a TV appearance of Clarkson and commented “Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all her backing singers? Happily I have a wide-screen,”
When Kelly’s fans heard about the tweet thousands of them defended the singer and her weight, Hopkins decided to tweet back “Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves,”
“We give fat really cute names, don’t we?” Katie said. “We have baby weight, puppy fat, love handles, muffin top, chunky monkey — ultimately these are all nice names for something that’s not very nice … You’re supporting Kelly Clarkson because everybody likes to have a fat friend, because the great thing about a fat friend is it makes you feel slimmer.”
“Every fat child has a fat parent,” Katie said. ” And that’s — for me — why Kelly Clarkson is an important example. She needs to allow her daughter to grow up knowing that it’s not great to be fat. It’s much better to be healthier.”
But Kelly didn’t stay quiet and said the best response in return “She’s tweeted something nasty about me? That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome!” Clarkson explained. “It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will. I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good, that’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family — I don’t seek out any other acceptance.”
Comments which are both cruel and hurtful no matter who you are and what you think if it’s not positive it should have not been said. When I see, hear, and read things like this it really gets under my skin while it also leaves me speechless. I will never understand how people can be so selfish, evil, and heartless. It is true that being older doesn’t make you any wiser. How grown up people can be so ignorant that nowadays it seems like the older the more dramatic and childish they become. That goes for everyone because that is the image kids today see in most of their parents and if not they are letting society raise them. It is so sad seeing women tearing women down when we should be uplifting and giving words of wisdom instead of being bitter, seeking revenge, and using descriptive words or slurs to each other. I am not defending who is skinny, who is curvy, who is fat, who is pretty, who is ugly? No I am defending and standing up for women’s right to be beautiful in their own way!
Just because someone is 4’10 at 216 pounds or 5’11 at 120 pounds it doesn’t give the right for either one or someone at a perfect weight and height to criticize either one. Most people who have thigh gaps ladies it’s not because they are doing magic exercises in the gym or surgery it’s usually a generic trait. You could be the most overweight girl in the world lose 100 pounds trying to get a thigh gap and guess what your might get thinner legs but that gap you have been killing yourself for will kill you first before you get actually get it. That is not healthy nor beautiful, if you are putting yourself at risk for a beauty trait then it’s not worth it. Beauty as much cliché as it may sound it comes from the inside. From the inner love you have for yourself and the love you have for others. It’s about who you are, what you stand for, what you like to do, your dreams, your aspirations, and so much more. When you realize that are you doing things for yourself things slowly start falling into place and beautiful things come out of it. If you want to lose or gain weight do it the healthy way and because you want to do it and not because of someone else remember that: “A lion never loses sleep over the opinion of the sheep’s”. Be that lion own it and let them hear your roar.
Honestly when talking about weight and beauty standards people definitely need to open up their minds about what those are, what they mean, and accept everyone for who they are. Not everyone who is skinny all thin and bones are anorexic and not all who are thick and curvy are obese or have eating disorders. More than likely they its just in their DNA and no matter how much they try they can’t seem to gain or lose the weight. Of course there are a lot of eating disorders and also mental disorders that also come a lot into play. You have Body Dysmorphic, Bulimia, Binge Eating, Anorexia which are all caused by a complex interaction of genetic, biological, behavioral, psychological, and social factors. But they only way to avoid causing these disorders if you as well associety in all would stop judging people or yourself by “looks”, and start being more aware of what we say, post, talk, and how we raise our kids in a world that is already so cruel. Since its so easy for people who are insecure about their own self’s or simply assholes to say least to bully others when they are always hiding behind their phones and computers posting comments on social media, gossiping around in the hall or so on. What you can do if you are tired of seeing your friends or yourself going through this is :STOP being the victim, STOP being the one who is quiet BE the voice, STAND UP!
Instead of looking at yourself in the mirror and hating your reflection start speaking out loud what makes you unique and those are the things that make you beautiful! Stop living by the rules of others, listen people are always going to talk so why not show them what you are really made of. Whoever said beauty was just any specific look I really feel bad for them because they are missing out on millions of other beautiful people out there.
*Disclaimer: I am not a health professional but I do encourage you to lose or gain weight the healthy way and not putting yourself out there without talking to a professional so please consult your Doctor, Nutritionist, or Physical Fitness Instructor before doing anything.
Be confident, Be bold, and Be Proud of who you are don’t lose yourself in the midst of the mind wars. OWN IT !

As most of my Instagram followers would know I am a full time Starbucks lover and I promise I don’t even get paid for anything, I just really do love it. From their delicious frappuccinos, coffee, logo and of course design aesthetic and ambience. What in the world is there not to love about it besides the expensive amount of money you’re getting in a cup of coffee? 😉
Anyways, unless you live under a rock and you’ve never been inside of any Starbuck’s well let me tell you that they also sell breakfast, packaged snacks, lunches, and music… not to mention your’e missing out on some really good frapps.
I love that they give you a FREE download card for Itunes with the “Pick Of The Week” with the artist they are promoting at that time. They also sell EP’s or CD’s however you want to call them, and being Starbucks yes sometimes they are a little bit overpriced but I still got a copy of the fabulous Ingrid Michaelson’s “LIGHTS OUT” album. I also enjoyed the fact that it was a coffee shop that still represented the more music lover inspired open minded people who would say im gonna by a record and still feel like a physical experience.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the first CD the store offered was back in 1994, by Kenny G?
Well, as much as I love technology and I love the fact that you can download things straight to your laptop and have a library that can hold thousands of songs on your IPod, I still am very much old school too. I love being able to buy actual vinyl records, casette’s, and cd’s. Just like I still hold on to VHS movies and home made videos even if you can’t tell almost what the image is. Okay maybe I am taking a little too literal right there, but the point is that I really love the experience of being able to have physical copies in my hand of the music that I love listening to.
Why get rid of the CDs? Well apparently Starbuck’s is trying to “evolve” its music offerings. Though they say that they will stay in the music business digitally, I feel like it won’t be the same experience as it used to be. For some of you just walk in straight for your coffee but for other people like me, we would check out what they had new in stock while we got our order and sit down as we enjoyed our frapp. The music was always an added value when in came to Starbucks as when it first originally started their “discovering” artists for their customers to listen to. I understand that with how fast technology is constantly changing companies and society will always want the latest and best trends as part of growing and evolving. But sometimes by changing one thing you are really limiting the next generation to come of enjoying some of the greatest life experiences from the past.
By the way did you know that you can now get the “ARIANA GRANDE” Starbuck’s Frapp. Thanks to the lovely Loryn Brantz at Buzzfeed for the recipe and idea. I really have to go try this frapp while I listen to “One Last Time” on my car.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Oscars 2015 and it the opening number couldn’t have been better! A night dedicated to films, cast, crew, artistry, design, music, and more. A night full of emotion, excitement, passion, and dedication from the best in the industry. My favorite moments from this year’s show is in no particular order.
When first-time nominee Graham Moore won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on the film “The Imitation Game”, he took to the stage and not only did he opened up to a very dark time of his past when he wanted to committ suicide but he also pledge for those who are still looking for their place in this world. He knew how to use to this huge platform and his moment to touch base on such important topics like suicide, depression, and acceptance.
Eddie Redmayne’s win for Best Actor for his work on the film “The Theory of Everything”. Now that is what I call a well deserved and best reaction winning moment. His dedication in order to prepare himself for this movie was months of studying, training, and learning about ALS, from what the caregiver, patient, and medical perspectives. He contacted Queen Square Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases in London where a constultant took him through the various diagnoses and stages of this disease. *ALS is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis often known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
The reactions of Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez to Patricia Arquette’s speech when she accepted her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in Boyhood, and made a political statement and demanded gender equality. She said: “To every woman who gave birth to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights. It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America.”
When Lady Gaga paid tribute to Sounds Of Music star Julie Andrews. Her performance definitely showcase Gaga’s ability to sing, perform, and put on a great show just like I have always defended her from the start. Her talent is in impeccable. She was sought crying afterwards backstage after her moving performance.
A beautiful and moving performance by John Legend and Common who performed the Oscar Winning song “Glory” from the film “Selma”. The scenery for their performance was a backdrop of Alabama’s Edmund Pettus Bridge, where hundreds walked across for their right to vote back in 1965. It brought tears to everyone’s eyes including Chris Pine.
And last but not least Tim McGraw’s performance paying homage to one of the greatest country singers and songwriters Glen Campbell and his family. Glen Campbell wrote this song for his family as soon as he diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. A disease I know too well since I lost two of my grandparents to it. I guess this is why I was more moved by this performance because they lyrics hit straight to my heart. I tried not to cry as I heard the lyrics last night specially when they showed Glen’s family at the end of the performance. His family handpicked Mcgraw to sing this song from the “Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me” documentary which follows the farewell tour of Campbell, after his Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
And of course how could I forget…. #neilpatrickharrisnakedoscars2015

Music is bound to repeat itself just like fads in the fashion industry. Everything comes and go and originality is never truly original its always inspired by a motif. But that’s not exactly the thought on everyone’s mind.
Canberra indie band SAFIA had accused Ariana Grande’s Team of copying their video. On Monday, the band took to their social media SAFIA Facebook Page and wrote:
SAFIA’s music video for “You Are The One” released on September of 2014 opens with a static introduction and opening credits with a young woman getting out of a car who seems distressed and running down a street full of people in an what resembles an apocalyptic scene under a purple meteor shower. The video also closes with the woman kissing a man while meteor showers surrounds them ultimately causing an explosion around them and end of scene.
Ariana Grande’s music video for “One Last Time” which was released just a day ago follows almost the same script with the only difference they added more obstacles while she runs through the crowd and it almost looked like a quarantine in the midst of the end of the world. She also has a purple tone like effect on the sky and she also kisses her boyfriend at the end of the video with an explosion around them at the end of the video.
And of course this was not an easy pill for Arianators to read as they responded immediately all over social media defending Ariana Grande’s music video with angry backlash. But SAFIA fans supported the group by also leaving comments on their wall and screenshots of why they were so upset with Grande’s video.
Max Landis, who is the director behind “One Last Time” took to Twitter to defend his work from the masses:
But both of these music videos are very close to the same apocalyptic ideal for another band whose music video looks very similar. So in the end who is copying who? I’ll leave all three videos here and let you decide. Feel free to leave comments down below and let me know your thoughts.

Hi guys so today I decided to really just write this post on something that its more on a personal point and not so much on fashion or music, though it is related to one of the most recent and latest entertainment news on the loss of Robin Williams. This post is about raising awareness and understanding an illness like depression and how it could lead to serious choices. These type of things I really don’t like really talking about often but I think that is the same reason why it keeps happening. Because people keep ignoring depression and mental illnesses and passing along the lines of being dramatic, crazy, you don’t what you’re talking about. But it really is way more than that its not a lifestyle that you choose its something that really does affect you emotionally, physically, and that is when things get real and scary. I think society is definitely a big influence on these type of things too but I’ll get into that later as we go on.
As most of you should know by now it is believed that Williams’s death was because he apparently committed suicide following from a severe depression. I am not here to judge anyone’s choices or what they do with their life but it is so sad to see someone so beautiful, kind, talented, and joyful go in such a horrible way because of an illness that is so cruel to many. We have seen a lot of Hollywood stars sadly commit suicide in many different ways, we have also heard of those who also struggle with substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, and mental illnesses. From Heath Ledger, Amy Winehouse, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and so many more. But is not only celebrities that are the ones struggling but also people like you and i, individuals who live in the same neighborhood as you or in your school, church, at work, and so on.
I am so saddened to see so many people pointing fingers, judging, and commenting on how weak could that person be, or even bullying them after they are gone rather than trying to understand if this could have been prevented. I really don’t understand how many people are out there who still think that depression, mental illnesses, suicide, or any other disorders are a game. This is serious and the first way to prevent more of these tragedies are by trying to understand one another, with love, compassion, communication, and helping them out.
Did you know that 1 in 4 people suffer some sort of mental health problem.
Stop judging why someone is the way they are, the way they dressed, talk, look, appearance, or what they have or don’t have. You don’t know their story and everybody has one. So before you point fingers take a look at your own life. Not a lot of people are blessed to have half of the things you may have or etc so why not share the blessings that you do have with them. If you see someone down, angry, upset sometimes its good to give them their space but its also good to talk with them or if you are the one feeling frustrated talk or write it out. When you hold things in it can really tear you apart even more. A good friend of mine told me draw, sing, compose, write, do whatever you want but let it out and its true. Use your talents or whatever makes you feel at peace like listening,or expressing it in music.
From a personal point I can definitely tell you that everyone at least once or twice in their lifetime they will go through a phase where they are depressed or think they have lost it all. But you need to start counting your blessings and not your flaws. There are days you feel frustrated like you are losing your mind or sometimes everything you had planned don’t go right. But you have to let the down falls make you strong and pick yourself up.
I know its hard, I know its not easy and its the reason why I want people to understand that the people who go through an illness like this or have thoughts of taking their own lives they are not weak. It takes a really strong mind to say I want to end this I have no way out or even to think that those are the only choices left for them to have. They are not doing it for attention, or anything like that. If someone wanted to do it they would, no question asked. I am not encouraging any harm of actions at all. I am just saying its an illness that needs to be taken very seriously and before you comment or speak the words “selfish”, “weak”, “idiotic”, “dramatic” or “waste of talent” think about what if you or a loved one was the one with such illness. How would you feel? How it would affect you? Your loved ones? Your dreams?
Though, I will never understand why would someone be so selfish and so low to even be a bully to someone even after they have committed such tragedy. It really just comes to show that really the weak one’s are the one who sit behind a computer screen commenting/criticizing instead of educating themselves and thinking how they could make a difference on someone else’s life that is slowly fading. I am not here to preach but i do hope that whoever is reading this whether you are the weak one’s (bullies), the soul who is seeking for an answer, or the families and friends who can’t understand or get any consolation to this illness to give yourself a chance to educate yourself, to understand, to give yourself a chance and somehow cope with a situation like this.
There is a purpose in this life for all of us, YOU are the light within the darkness. If you want to see a difference in your life take it one step at a time and BREATHE. Don’t let the struggles of life and the negativity take the strong, happy, extraordinary, beautiful, dreamer, talented individual YOU ARE. Life is made out of struggles and if life was easy it wouldn’t be called life. I know it sounds cliche but its so true. It may be a bad day but not a bad life. Please if you feel like your drowning in thoughts open your heart and seek the goodness in it, communicate with someone that will listen to you (God? Beliefs? Family Members? Friends? Psychologists?) the options are never ending. If you need prayer or if you feel like you need to talk to someone I’m here too because I have been there one way or another. I myself have dealt with depression maybe not at the same level as some of you but everyone does I promise. You are NOT alone!
And on a final note I would like to end with this I really think people should really think and educate themselves before they speak. People should never need to made feel worse for suffering from something that its beyond their control. And people should never make the families feel bad either for having someone go through it either. Because at the end of the day we are all humans, we all make mistakes, we all need chances to figure out who we really are, we all live, and breath the same way we need to love one another and support each other. 🙂
