STRIPES+SNEAKERS

I have suddenly fell in love with the idea of stripes and sneakers. I am a true believer of being comfortable above all things, but doing it with style. Most people think of the idea of sneakers as athletic and too casual. But what if I told you to throw that statement out the window and dress them up. Depending on your special occasion of course, you would want to see which one would best fit your style. Mixing athletic performance gear with fashion forward pieces can result in an effortless and wonderful look. And I will show you how amazing it can look with our second trend in just a second.

The second trend that I am in love with are stripes and believe it or not anyone can pull them off. I have heard so many ladies complain that because they are plus size that they can’t wear stripes cause it makes them look bigger. Ladies, that its a lie from the Devil himself do not fall for that trick. Of course that with every trend and style you should follow what is more suitable for your silhouette but that doesn’t mean you can’t follow or be afraid of trying that trend out. A tip I have learned from myself is that you should wear the stripes on the smallest part of your body and match your body size to the size of the stripes. Meaning if you have more to love on top then wear a striped pattern on the bottom half like a skirt, shorts, or jeans. If its vice versa then try on the top and play around the pattern of the stripes. Also looking for different patterns and styles like vertical, horizontal, chevron, princess cut, and etc. If you are more full figured then wear bigger stripes or if you are more petite wear smaller stripes. Its also about how good you are at layering remember its all about balancing your outfit or making a bold statement. Depending on which one you decide to go for at the end less is more so if you feel like stripes are all ready bold enough then minimize the amount of accessories.

That’s great so how can I now combine these two awesome trends into one without looking too casual? or how can I make it work for a date, work, or etc? Let me show you a few easy, and simple staples that you probably already own within these two trends for a great outfits. Here are some examples I’ve made for you.

1.) Going out on a coffee date, movies, or ladies night? Go for a cute romper with bold accessories and simple hairstyle.

2.) Stripes are made for everyone just be sure to pay attention to details on the size of your stripes, colors, and your own silhouette. Have fun and stripe away!!! Perfect for any ensemble and any occasion.

3.) Are you a party animal or a fashionista? Here are some cute dresses wether basic solid colors to daring details. Perfect for night outs, the more casual ones for music festivals, and semi casual concerts. Accessorize with bold satchels, or cross body bags.

4.) Change it up! From long sleeve to short sleeve rompers, cropped tops, denim, high waisted shorts, or long pants. Stripe your details in different textiles.

5.) Dresses and Sneakers go very well in hand if you want to either take it slow on Sunday, running errands, summer dates, or those semi formal parties.

HHN 24 in Review

I love when October comes around because that only means one massive thing for me Halloween Horror Nights or as we call it here in Orlando HHN. I was really excited this year because even though they had Walking Dead again, they also had a Halloween Housed based on Michael Myers which is one of my all time favorite classic characters. Unfortunately I had the chance to only go to four out of the eight houses due to the amount of waiting time. I would love to go again so I could experience the other four houses. I love HHN because I love the adrenaline I feel when I walk through the Houses and the Scare Zones to see the amount of creativity and work they put in.

WELCOME to HHN 24 2014 at Universal Studios Orlando, FL. {My OOTD: Black Crop Top Dots, Highwaisted Denim Jeans- Lane Bryant,Black Vans, Red/ Black Plaid Shirt Target, Brown Bag Charlotte Russe, Ray Ban Aviators, 90’s choker Urban Outfitters, and Red Under top Forever 21. Red lips Kate Moss shade 107.}

This year was I was definitely not as impressed as I have been in previous years when it come to the Scare Zones. Honestly, I felt they lacked more actors, and they should have spread the Scare Zones throughout the park. The Face Off scare zone was very interesting and intriguing it really is a really great photo opportunity area to take selfies,and photos with very unique creatures.

The Purge scare zone was really cool as far the main actor they had who was dressed in a business suit with a microphone basically inviting you in to the purge and talking to guest and creeping them out. This part was cool because it reminded me of the movie I just wish they had more scare actors in your face making you want to run the opposite ways. The voodoo scare zone was pretty vague, and nothing really scary just a little fog and nothing really worth screaming for.

Meanwhile, the houses were the main aspect of where Universal used its budget at, as well as the costuming, special effect makeup, and other special effects to make them incredible well at least some of them. From worst to best out of the four houses I went to personally goes like this:

4.) Aliens .V.S. Predators

Pro’s: Awesome Costuming Effects on.

Con’s: Was not scary at all. No one screamed, no one jumped, it was so easy to walk through, annoying exit route having to bend under a little tunnel.

3.) Halloween Michael Myers

Pro’s: It was awesome so many Michael Myers popping out and a surprise ending I won’t ruin,

Con’s: The line of 105 minutes was not worth it honestly though.

2.) From Dusk Till Dawn

Pro’s: Keeps you jumping and on your toes and very close to the TV version of the show.

Con’s: I wish it would have been a longer walk through or bigger house for this.

1.) Walking Dead: Prison

Pro’s: So amazing from the moment you walk in and out of it. Definitely messes with your head which makes you more vulnerable to the unexpected scare actors, and the makeup effects were pretty darn scary. Walkers everywhere so beware! Definitely the best Walking Dead house so far in HHN.

Con’s: The flashing lights blinded the f*ck out of me and I almost ended up in a cage full of walkers.

The Housed I missed were: Roanoke – Cannibal Colony, Giggles & Gore Inc, Dollhouse of the Damned, and Dracula Untold- Reign of Blood. 😦

Now from my friends point of view who have attended the other four houses they have loved the clown house, and the doll house even better. They say those were pretty scary because the make up effects, and costuming were quite horrifying and they kept popping everywhere. These two houses the time I went had the less wait time so I would say if you want to make two houses that are really quick in time these would be it. I advise that you do Halloween, and Walking Dead first because the wait time are so ridiculous from 105 minutes and up. Obviously the Rocky Horror Picture Show was great, and Bill and Ted’s Experience was not as fun as other years it lacked material, it was only funny because of Nicki Minaj, and Disney’s Frozen as well as their magic band, and the rest was just kind of pushed in your face to make you laugh and it really wasn’t even funny. But the actors were good so I give them that. If you do go to either HHN24 in Hollywood or Universal Orlando I want to hear from you. I want to know which were you favorite houses, and scare zones. And what did you like least?

My 2014 “Closet Swap” with Raise.com

Summer 2014 is just around the corner and as others get ready to be fit for the long sunny days hitting up the beach, I am getting my wardrobe Summer ready. Goodbye to all my Winter/ Fall clothes for now, and Hello Summer/Spring! Lately I haven’t had the time or day to go out shopping at the mall because I barely had time within working, internship, blogging, and my daily life so I went cyber shopping. Nope its not cyber Monday but I did find an amazing website raise.com and its one of the coolest marketplace for all fashionistas, shopaholics, and fashion needs.

Basically Raise is a new marketplace where you can buy discounted gift cards to all of your favorite brands, and sell your unused gift cards for CASH! You did read right! I promise. They have gift cards for all kind of store and brands. From Nordstrom, Forever21, Target, to DSW. So after checking out raise.com I came to the conclusion I definitely needed to make a “Closet Swap” and get my new Summer wardrobe started.

No.1 Trend >> SUMMER LAYERING

Layering is not only for the cold winter days, as we move on to summer layering is one of the biggest trends. You can use a crop top and layer it over a dress like I did with my outfit. Its two outfits in one! So if you want to change up your look from a casual statement just take the top part off and you are ready for a night out with friends. You can also layer up in accessories with multiple bracelets, rings, and etc.

I love this trend because it breaks off the image of the LBD (Little Black Dress) that we are constantly following. Its summer time and everything should be colorful, bright, and fun. Find a beautiful bright yellow dress that fits your style whether its more retro, vintage, sophisticated, or modern. If you are afraid of how bold the color could be against your skin tone try bold prints whether they Aztec, floral, or etc to subtle your look. Pair it up with some classic wedges or heels to show off your legs. If you like the bohemian or gypsy look mix rose gold accessories and add chain headbands into a subtle beach waves hairstyle like mine. 😉

No.3 Trend >> BOLD Sunglasses & Jumpers

This summer is all about having fun and showing off your personality and personal style. I am in love with vintage and retro styles mixed with modern trends. This is an outfit I would wear to go to the beach or hang out at Ocean Drive in Miami. This beautiful periwinkle laced jumper from Topshop its sexy without being too revealing and very comfortable. Its see thru at the top with muscle tank like sides that lets you showcase your bathing suit top. I paired with the bold heart shaped sunglasses, headband, and vintage flats from H&M. My accessories are Forever21, and Urban Outfitters.

No.4 Trend >> Graphic Tees & Overalls.

Finally for your last summer closet swap pieces get radical with cool graphic tees and overalls. If you love concert tees, old school, or hipster fashion this is the time to wear it. Pair it up with cool and edgy accessories with cross leather bracelets, skull rings, and spiked necklaces. Kick up your style with ankle boots instead of the Vans for a sexier look.

Who says you need to have a lot of money to look just as fierce as these Hollywood stars. Without requiring a team of stylists, or a dozen different expensive makeup or hairstyling products here are few tricks and ideas for you to try:

Dare to be brave and BRAID IT UP:

Don’t be afraid to try different braid hairstyles for a daring and bold look. Play different styles and braid textures like loose strands here and there or go solid strong. These beautiful braids are glamorous and with a hidden bohemian attitude. Change styles up by using pins to hold up chignon or bun styles. Play with hair accessories to add a romantic touch.Check a lot of those YouTube tutorials to see how can achieve your own. Here are some of the braids hairstyles you can try:

HAIRSTYLES

Go for the EFFORTLESS, but tres-chic look. Nothing says beauty than simple, sleek, low ponytails. This is a style that any one and everyone can pull off no matter the occasion. Add tease at the crown of your hair to bring that mod look out.

Valentine’s Day Part 1of 2 – FASHION – EDITION!

VALENTINE’S DAY is only a few days away and while for some its a day full of hearts and roses to others it is known as or referred to as the “single awareness” day.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. Being single doesn’t mean you are alone right? Some of us are just smart enough to know we deserve better ;). But I am sure some of you will spend the day on a girls night out or with your boys at the bar getting some drinks ready for a wild night. For others it means a bucket of ice cream while watching ridiculous romance Hollywood movies hoping that one day prince charming will come along looking like Ryan Gosling. And if you are a couple you may be having hot steamy love scenes after a nice dinner; unless you get in an argument for whatever reason. But regardless your relationship status Valentine’s Day is coming up and wardrobe ideas are the first thing a lot of us ladies often think about so we can look our best. Whether its to bring up your spirit or you want to seduce your crush here are some great fashion and beauty tips I have come up with so you not only look but feel SEXY, CONFIDENT, SASSY, and like a DIVA yourself! 🙂

-CASUAL – DATE – FASHION-

If you are the kind of gal who likes to be comfortable, relaxed yet you love fashion these casual outfits are for you. While most people like the fancy side of a Valentine’s date like having a nice a dinner after going to the cinema, maybe yours is more laid back. Whether you feel like attending a theme park, or going out for a casual day out with your loved ones don’t let that keep you from looking your best. Denim Jeans whether they are striped, distressed, colored, or solid wash mix patterns, fabrics, and colors for a bold fashion statement. Since its V- Day I stuck with the color palette of pink, red, and white while adding black and mixing these colors in the little details.

-SEXY- DRESSES- GNO

Don’t be afraid to show your personality through some bold patterns on vintage like dresses. From A-line dresses to short pleated skirts not only does it give you a nice silhouette but also shows off your amazing legs. Pair these floral print dresses with any of your favorite kind of heels to make your look, look fierce! If you are more comfortable in flats try out some oxford flats. Oxford flats give any floral print dress a nice vintage look and they are available in all kinds of design styles which includes decorative studs, lace or etc. When it comes to floral pattern in dresses try out the 90’s grunge style of black and white yellow daisies. If you are more in the line of Ariana Grande inspired then a white dress with red floral decals will be your best shot. There is something very romantic and beautiful when you play with braided hairstyles that completes your ensemble. For accessories you can try out some nineties round sunglasses mixed with a bowler hat, or beanie, and gold accessories.

GIVE HIM THAT LITTLE EXTRA HMMP! – INTIMATES- FASHION

This lingerie mood board I created for you ladies is inspired by the trilogy “Fifty Shades of Grey” by E. L. James that made almost every woman on this Earth pick up those novels and read until they wished that they had a GREY in their life. While it also made many men super jealous of a fictional character, so much that with their trash talk made the topic even more famous. So thank you! But luckily for them they will probably get that extra hmm on Valentine’s. You can wear the mask and make him wear the silver tie.

Ladies! Celebrate the beautiful woman you are inside and out, you don’t have to be Anastasia you can be yourself and that will be more than enough. But if you are looking into spicing things up a little bit try sexy laces, mesh, detailed bottoms. Go for a more subtle look avoid the thongs and make his imagination run wild with transparent or peek-a-boo boy shorts,or cheeky styles.

For bra’s from push ups to under wire. Keep the color scheme in mind from all shades of grey to black even in your accessories to make it more seductive. Heels will probably fly across the room at some point but while you are lighting up the bedroom with some nice scented candles and putting on your best perfume wear some cute stilettos of sparkly heels around.

Feel confident and own it! Nothing says I love you more than you loving yourself first! And if you are self conscious then wear a short sleeve top with boy shorts and a little cardigan on top. If you get cold add some nice knee highs to keep you warm.

AMA’S 2013 The Best & The Worst: Music & Fashion

Hello Fashionminies,

As most of you have already seen the American Music Awards 2013 took place in Los Angeles, California two days ago on November 24, 2013. Unlike any other awards show I was very pleasantly surprised as they had a lot of great live performances and amazing list of winners. I dedicated my night to watch everything from the exclusive red carpet entrance and interviews to the beginning and finale of the show. My personal highlights from the AMA’s 2013 this year for performances were many. But I will tell you all how I felt about each of them individually as I list them down for you on here.

Performances by:

Katy Perry – Katy Perry sung one of her new single “Unconditionally” from her new album “Prism”. Her performance made one of my top pick because of the its musicality, costume, and choreography as it was the main opening act for the AMA’s. Also because it has become one of the most controversial performances around the world right now due to the fact that some viewers called it “disrespectful”, and “racist”.

Why? Because of the fact that she was inspired by Japanese culture dressed as a geisha in a kimono. Most viewers who follow this culture said that Katy Perry,was over sexualizing on stage what is supposed to be a traditional Japanese female figure. One who is paid to serve as entertainment in the world of arts.

In my personal opinion I thought she looked wonderful and she meant no disrespect. But instead she wanted to honor and pay tribute to the beautiful culture, and people that is Japan. Which is one full of exquisite taste and happiness they bring to the world through their culture, fashion, music, and colors. Her performance was impeccable even her microphone was designed to be part of the theme with cherry blossom flowers on it.

One Direction – The very talented British/Irish boy band sensation took to the stage singing their new single “Story Of My Life” from their new released album “Midnight Memories”. Their performance paid tribute to their music video with photographs of them and their families and dim string lights that lit up the stage. Their performance was beautiful because it brought the emotional, sentimental, and appreciation of their voices. They even got a standing ovation from the crowd after the song ended.

Ariana Grande – She did not fail us at all. Her voice filled up the room with so much control of her vocals. She is definitely one of my favorite new breakout artists out there. There is no doubt that she is super talented and that she will be one to make history as her career grows even further. Her voice is so mature, and beautifully trained as she sung an intro of her song “The Way” and into a retro vibe in“Tattooed Heart”. Both of her songs are included in her new album “Yours Truly”.
- Imagine Dragons– They completely blew me off my seat as they took charge of a medley of “Demons” and “Radioactive”. Their performance was full of fueled high energy from each of the band members. They all took charge of taking turns playing different drums, and other musical instruments while they sung. They also made sure to leave their heart out on that stage while performing making a huge difference between and award show and concert performance. This was a mix of both which means it was perfect. Literally if you were not a fan of Imagine Dragons before that performance definitely had to change your mind. 😉
- Jennifer Lopez – I think she personally smashed it, it was amazing. Her performance was overall sung in Spanish due to the fact that she was paying tribute to no other than Celia Cruz. Celia Cruz used to be a very famous and influential Cuban singer who led a legendary trajectory in the music industry. As we all know before Ms. Lopez was a singer or actress or the amazing entrepreneur woman she is she was a dancer. Her talented dancing skills were the beginning of her career. Therefore, it was no surprise to see how she took ownership of that stage; dancing salsa while she sung and three different instant outfit changes.
- Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – The duo was not able to make it to the actual AMA’s due to the fact they were playing a concert in no other than Miami, Florida. But they did take time to receive one of their very well deserved awards for Favorite Artist in RAP/HIP-HOP category. In which Macklemore made a really amazing and powerful statement about racism, justice, and about the effects on future generations.They also did a live, live stream performance of “Can’t Hold Us” from their album “The Heist”.
- Lady Gaga ft. R.Kelly– Lady Gaga and R.Kelly took the stage a very theatrical and almost a ballad version by the end of the song of “Do What U Want”. The storyline was a presidential love affair between Gaga and Kelly, with Gaga being heartbroken and criticized at the end all alone crying over him because he used and left her. I thought it was very neat, very throughout, and like always very impressed. There is no need to question her vocal talent, acting, or dancing skills when you have that type of love and passion for music.
I couldn’t find the word worst for worst performances to be used this year’s AMA’s because they were all great or decent. The only thing I would call it would be weak performances because they are great artist with some wrong choices with their performance choices:
- Justin Timberlake – Its not his usual performance that is upbeat and song that everyone can sing along with him it was more laid back and boring to me.
- Miley Cyrus – Her voice flawless, her fashion eh? not so much with cats all over but the worst part was the huge cat in the back which took over her performance rather than my attention her performance with the song. It really made no sense at all. I felt high in a musical rave to be honest.
Talking the best and worst of fashion at the AMA’s 2013.

Here are my highlights of both the best and worst looks in fashion and styling choices that our celebs opted to wear for the AMA’S 2013 red carpet.

The best dressed ladies:
- Ariana Grande in her strapless sequined “Jessica Rabitt” dress.
- Rihanna in her sequined black midriff showing and see thru lace dress.
- Christina Aguilera in a white and sexy cut out hugging figure in the silky gown.
- Lady Gaga in a light purple Versace dress.
- Kendall Jenner was better dressed than Kylie in a short white strapless ensemble. Sorry Girls!
- Naya Rivera definitely made a fashion statement with keyhole opening in the front black dress with gold bracelets.
The worst dressed ladies:
- Katy Perry in a black floral strapless ethereal gown by Oscar de La Renta.
- Rihanna you are in my worst dressed too because of your Dubi hair like ummm no fashion fail sweetheart you are an A list celebrity no rhinestone bobby pins can hide that mess.
- Miley Cyrus who wore an open neck white blazer and cropped white pants by Versace.
- Taylor Swift in super short short glittering metallic dress that looked more like she came from another era from Julien Macdonald.
- Kylie Jenner was dressed way too casual for the AMA’s.
  - Heidi Klum wore this ugly Marchesa gown with fringed detail.
- Kelly Ousbourne this breaks my heart cause I truly love her but I don’t know why she wore this ugly silver floral and tulle dress that made her look bigger.
- Jennifer Hudson’s orange and pink dress would have been best dressed on my list if she would have either gone all short or all long. But this Asymmetrical opening in the front looks like she got caught on something and broke it.
- Aubrey O’Day I think was confused when she got dressed because it was definitely not appropriate for the AMA’s at all.
- Fifth Harmony – The first two girls Normandi and Lauren look great (on the left) from Dinah and on to the right its a mess.
The best dressed gentlemen:
- One Direction – Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. BOTH of their outfit changes were equally as sexy and beautiful.
- Justin Timberlake- in a Tom Ford tux, and Louboutin shoes with a cute black bow.
- Jesse McCartney- Sexy from head to toe and classy.
- Tyga – Looked really good in his Saint Laurent sequin blazer and I loved the hat.
- Fall Out Boy– they looks so good together.
The worst dressed gentlemen:
- Akon – Why the need of so much casual leather.
- 2 Chainz- Like really man? What is with the whole look from head to toe. Fashion Fail.
- Nelly- Way too Casual.
- Marc Anthony – plaid and jeans too casual and horribly put for someone who is nominated to win..(which by the way won so congrats.)

Hey Fashionminies!

As most of you know I am hardcore UK freak. I love everything that is British. From culture, royalty, the cute handsome guys, their artists, bands, the accent, the lifestyle, and most of all their fashion trends.

If you haven’t noticed lately a lot of our stores here in the United States carry a lot of trends that are being inspired from the UK. A lot of our stores that we have over here like Forever 21, H&M, Zara, Wet Seal, & others are starting to carry a lot of the similar looks or styles that stores like TOPMAN, TOPSHOP and DIVIDED carry. Wether we are being inspired from their culture or music its things like their Union Jack flag, to their 90’s streets style, and other that are transcending or emerging in our styles here.

I personally am in love with various trends that we saw in the Summer and we will be seeing back again for the fall. For example, some high waisted shorts, modern boho styles, and maxi dresses. We will also be seeing continuing trends like fads more than likely fashion inspired from comics, 90’s fashion, 60’s fashion, and a little bit of military pieces as well. Bring out the snapbacks, denims, black and white edgy pattern pieces.

Meanwhile, as for me I love certain trends but sometimes they are not made specifically for me. But for girls who are slightly taller and even slimmer. But I never let that stop me from wearing the same trends I just make small adjustments. Adjustments that benefit either my silhouette or compliment what I want to wear so it looks some what as cool as it would in anyone else.

For example, I am in love with the whole modern boho fringe tops, and highwaisted shorts. When it comes to denim highwaisted shorts I am very difficult to fit, due to my blessed curves. So I took matters into my own hands, and I made my own pair of highwaisted denim shorts. So I bought a pair of jeans, cut them, distressed them, and designed my on Union Jack all hand painted by yours truly.

I also plan on adding studs to the back and front pockets, but they still haven’t arrived just yet from my online shopping spree. But it was so hot here in Orlando, FL that I was like what the heck I don’t care I am just going to wear them as they are now. I can’t believe how cool they turned out and how many compliments I have gotten on them. I really love and I am inspired a lot by the UK and European trends. So regardless of One Direction or anything like that I have always been inspired by their culture, history, music, and just everything really. I would love to be able to have the opportunity to travel and visit to the UK and all over Europe. So if you ever see me around come and say hi! 🙂

MY REVIEW ON TAYLOR SWIFT’S “THE RED TOUR 2013” FT. ED SHEERAN

HI FASHIONMINIES!

SO I HAVE TO UPDATE YOU ALL ON MY LIFE AND THE “OH SO AMAZING” EXPERIENCES I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN THESE COUPLE OF MONTHS.
SO AS ALL OF YOU KNOW I HAD PURCHASED TICKETS LAST YEAR TICKETS FOR TAYLOR SWIFT’S RED TOUR 2013 THIS MAY. AND WHY TAYLOR SWIFT ANYWAYS?… WELL MOST OF YOU KNOW I AM NOT A BIG FAN OF TAYLOR’S THOUGH I ENJOY SOME OF HER SONGS I WOULD NEVER EVER GO TO ONE OF HER CONCERTS, OR SO I THOUGHT? I AM PRETTY SURE THAT MOST OF YOU HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE PHRASE “NEVER SAY NEVER” YEAH I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THAT MYSELF.

SO LONG STORY SHORT I FOUND OUT THAT ONE OF MY FAVORITE AND ALL TIME FAVORITES BRITISH SINGER AND SONGWRITER GRAMMY NOMINATED ED SHEERAN WAS TAGGING ALONG” THE RED TOUR” AS ONE OF HER OPENING ACTS. RIGHT THEN AND THERE, THERE WAS NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT I HAD TO GET TICKETS NOW FOR THIS CONCERT NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKE OR HOW MUCH I HAD TO PAY. I WAS SO EXCITED I COULDN’T SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TICKETS WERE RELEASED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. SO THEN I FIND OUT THAT THE TICKETS FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC WAS GOING TO BE RELEASED A LITTLE EARLIER BEFORE 10AM IF YOU WERE AT THE ACTUAL BOX OFFICE. SO I WAKE UP MAD EARLY THE NEXT DAY NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD TO BEAT TRAFFIC FROM EARLY MORNING DRIVERS, AND DRIVE THROUGH ALL DOWNTOWN ORLANDO AND FIND A PARKING SPACE. WHEN I GET THERE, THERE WAS A HUGE LINE AND I WAS LIKE “IS THIS FOR REAL?” AS I MADE MY WAY IN THE LINE AND WAITED ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE FANS THERE. AFTER WHAT SEEMED AND ETERNITY WAITING IN LINE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR I GOT TO THE WINDOW AND THE FRONT ROW AND VIP PIT WERE “SUPPOSEDLY” SOLD OUT ( WHICH EVERYONE KNOWS ITS A LIE! BUT WHATEVER!) SO I ENDED UP BUYING A PAIR OF TICKETS FOR $86.00 EACH ON THE LOWER LEVEL SECTION.

SO YES I WAS THERE MORE FOR ED SHEERAN THAN FOR TAYLOR SWIFT. BUT A GIRL HAS TO DO WHAT A GIRL HAS TO DO. SO I OBVIOUSLY KNOW TAYLOR SWIFT’S “RED” ALBUM AND ALL OF HER SONGS BECAUSE THIS ALBUM I THINK PERSONALLY HAS BEEN THE BEST ONE SO FAR. I THINK ITS BECAUSE ITS MORE FUN, AND IT HAS MORE SONGS I CAN RELATE TO RATHER THAN SOME OF HER OLD ALBUMS.

THE DAY OF THE CONCERT:
SO THE DAY OF THE CONCERT COMES AROUND AND I HAD REQUESTED THIS DAY OFF WORK LIKE LAST YEAR. SO ITS THE DAY OF THE CONCERT AND I AM SO EXCITED I CAN’T BELIEVE I WILL BE SEEING ED SHEERAN LIVE IN A FEW HOURS. I DEFINITELY DECKED OUT MY OUTFIT TO SHOW MY SUPPORT. SO PREVIOUS TO THIS I HAD BOUGHT ONLINE MONTHS AGO DIFFERENT THINGS SO I COULD MAKE THIS OUTFIT HAPPENED.

WHAT I WORE TO THE CONCERT:
– AN ED SHEERAN CARTOON TOP THAT HAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE LINES FROM HIS SONG “KISS ME” WHICH READS:
“I’VE FALLEN FOR YOUR EYES BUT THEY DON’T KNOW ME YET – ED SHEERAN”
– AN ORANGE TANK TO GO UNDERNEATH
– BRIGHT BLUE SKINNY JEANS
– BRIGHT ORANGE FLATS
– ED SHEERAN’S “+” ALBUM COVER HANDMADE EARRINGS
– ED SHEERAN PERSONALIZED SILVER BRACELET WITH MY FAVORITE LINE FROM HIS SONG “WAKE ME UP” THE BRACELET READS: “MAYBE IM IN LOVE WITH YOU WHEN YOU WAKE ME UP”

SO OTHER AMAZING THINGS HAPPENED BEFORE THE CONCERT THAT MADE MY NIGHT! WHICH WAS I MET ED SHEERAN IN PERSON FACE TO FACE AROUND 2PM THAT SAME DAY EARLIER BEFORE THE CONCERT LATER ON THAT NIGHT. BUT TO KNOW HOW I MET HIM AND SEE THE PICS MAKE SURE TO READ MY NEXT POST!!! I WILL TELL YOU ALL THE DETAILS!

SO I HAD SOME REALLY AMAZING SEATS CLOSE TO THE STAGE SIDE VIEW LOWER LEVEL GOT TO SEE “VIP” AREAS LIKE THE DANCER’S SWITCHOUTS, WADROBES, THE VIP RED TOUR AS THE WALKED BY WITH TAYLOR SWIFT’S MOM, THE DJ AREA, WHEN THEY CLEANED HER AND HER BAND’S GUITARS, POLISHING THEM. PLUS I HAVE MY AMAZING CAMERA THAT MY MOM GOT ME FOR CHRISTMAS WHICH WAS MEANT FOR THIS CONCERT ANYWAYS BUT THAT I HAD USED TO PHOTOGRAPH IN OTHER CONCERTS LIKE “pink” AND “demi lovato”. SO BEFORE THE CONCERT STARTED I MET SOME REALLY AMAZING FANS AND MADE SOME NEW FRIENDS. THEN WHEN THE CONCERT STARTED IT STARTED A LITTLE BEFORE THE TIME IT WAS SUPPOSED TO, SO PROPS ON THAT. THIS OTHER UP AND COMING COUNTRY SINGER OPENED UP FOR ED SHEERAN HIS NAME WAS SOMETHING BRYCE… I KNOW IM SORRY IM DIDN’T CATCH THE WHOLE THING BUT HE WAS GOOD.

THEN WITHIN A FEW MINUTES ED SHEERAN CAME OUT AND I WAS LIKE DONE FOR LIFE. HE WAS JUST FLAWLESS. I HAD A BIG BRITISH FLAG I HAD BROUGHT WITH ME INSTEAD OF A POSTER AND I TOOK IT OUT AND I WAS LIKE WAVING IT PROUDLY SO HE COULD SEE IT. THE GREAT THING ABOUT ED SHEERAN IS HE DOESN’T NEED DANCERS HE DOESN’T NEED ANYTHING HIS VOICE AND TALENT IS CAPTIVATING ENOUGH. HE CAN PLAY THE GUITAR LIKE NO OTHER YOU CAN TELL HE IS ART, HE IS MUSIC, HE IS A LYRICAL GENIUS. IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD OR LIKE ED SHEERAN YOU SERIOUSLY ARE MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING THAT IS GREAT. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT ED IS THAT YOU CAN TELL THAT MUSIC IS HIS LIFE, PASSION, AND EVERYTHING THAT IS HIM. AS SOON AS HE STEPS ON THAT STAGE AND STARTS PLAYING HE POURS OUT HIS WHOLE HEART AND SOUL INTO EVERY SONG IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW LONG THE SONG IS. HE MAKES SURE THAT EVERYONE IN THE CROWD IS INVOLVE AND HIS ENERGY FILLS UP THE WHOLE ARENA. I SANG MY HEART OUT TO ALL OF HIS SONGS AS I TRIED TO TAKE AS MANY PHOTOS, AND VIDEOS OF HIM POSSIBLE. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK AND SAY WOW I WAS THERE AND RELIVE IT. BECAUSE GOD KNOWS WHEN IT WILL BE THE NEXT TIME I WILL BE ABLE TO SEE HIM AGAIN IN CONCERT. AND HE MADE MY NIGHT EPIC REGARDLESS IF TAYLOR’S SHOW WOULD BE GOOD OR NOT. LATER WHEN HE ENDED HIS LAST SONG HE EXITED NEXT TO THE AREA I WAS SITTING AT AND WAVED BACK. 😀

HE OPENED UP SINGING “GIVE ME LOVE”, “KISS ME”, “DRUNK”, “LEGO HOUSE”, “U DON’T NEED ME, I DON’T NEED U” MIXED WITH HIS OWN COVER OF MACKLEMORE’S “THRIFTSTORE” AND ENDED WITH “A-TEAM”. WHICH WAS AMAZING BECAUSE HE HAD EVERYONE PULL OUT THEIR CELLPHONES AND WAVE THEM AND IT LOOKED LIKE GLITTERING ANGELS IT WAS EPIC THE WHOLE ARENA JUST FLAWLESS IN LIGHTS IT MADE THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE SONG JUST MORE AMAZING TO BE IN.

THEN LATER ON WITHIN A FEW MINUTES MORE I SAW THE DANCERS LINING UP AND TAKING THEYRE PLACES IN FULL COSTUMES AND I KNEW THAT THE SHOW WAS ABOUT TO START. IT WAS COOL BECAUSE BEFORE THAT SOME OTHER FANS AND I GOT TO SAY HI TO SOME OF THE DANCERS AND WAVE AT THEM. THEY STARTED DANCING TO “AMERICAN WOMAN” ALONG WITH US HAHA. SOME OF TAYLOR SWIFT’S DANCERS WERE DANCERS WHO WERE CONTESTANTS OR FINALISTS IN PAST SEASONS OF “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE” AND I HAD RECOGNIZED A FEW. WHICH WAS SUPRISINGLY FUN.

SO TAYLOR SWIFT’S SHOW STARTS AND THE “RED” SIGN STARTS FLASHING AND RISING UP. REVEALING THEN THAT SHE IS STANDING BEHIND A RED CURTAIN THAT IS KIND OF SHEER SO YOU COULD SEE HER SILHOUETTE AND STARTS TO SING HER OPENING NUMBER TO “STATE OF GRACE & HOLY GROUND” SHE CAME OUT AND HAD BLACK HIGH WAISTED LEATHER SHORTS AND WHITE LONG LACED SLEEVE TOP BLACK BOWLER HAT, RED LACE UP OXFORD FLATS WITH RED CRYTALS ON THEM, BLACK CATEYELINER MAKEUP AND IN HER SIGNATURE RED LIPS AND STRAIGHT HAIR WITH A LITTLE WAVES AT THE END, AND RED MICROPHONE IN HAND. AFTER HER SONG ENDED SHE STOOD THERE FOR ABOUT A LEGIT 15 MINUTES WAITING FOR THE CROWD TO APPLAUD AND CHEER AND SHE LOOKED AROUND THE ARENA. SHE THEN SANG “RED” WHICH WAS REALLY COOL CAUSE THE DANCERS USED RED SILK FABRIC AND FLAGS TO WAVE AROUND. SHE THEN CHANGED OUTFITS WITH A RED UNITARD WITH A RED SEQUIN OVERLAY SKIRT AND RED SILK GLOVES DID A 50’S VERSION JAZZ SOUND OF “YOU BELONG WITH ME”.

THEN SHE CHANGED THE OVERLAY SKIRT TO A LONG SILK ONE AND DID A VINTAGE INTRO VIDEO TO “THE LUCKY ONE” THAT REMINDED ME OF BRITNEY SPEARS VIDEO “LUCKY”. DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHOREOGRAPHED DANCES AND THEMED SONG OF THE NIGHT.

THEN SHE CHANGED AGAIN HER SKIRT FOR A WHITE FLARE SKIRT AND SAT DOWN AND SANG “MEAN” AND “YOURE NOT SORRY” AND THEN MY FAVORITE SONG “STAY STAY STAY” WHICH LATER SHE MIXED THAT SONG AS SHE WENT UP THE STAGE STAIRS THAT LIFTED IN THE AIR TO AS SHE SANG THE LUMINEER’S “HEYHO”.

SHE THEN CHANGED OUTFIT AGAIN AS THE PLAYED A SLIDESHOW OF VIDEO AND PHOTOS FROM HER AT AGE 1 ALL THE WAY TILL AGE … 22!!! WHICH INTRODUCED THE 22 SONG WHERE SHE CAME OUT IN A PREPPY OUTFIT VARSITY JACKET WITH THE LETTER “R” FOR RED, BLACK AND WHITE STRIPED LONG SLEEVE TOP, AND RED SKINNY JEANS. THIS WAS ANOTHER OF THE COOLEST SONGS SHE DID IT WAS FUN, ENERGETIC, YOUNG, AND THEN DANCERS TOOK HER FROM THE MAIN STAGE TO ANOTHER LITTLE STAGE FARTHER AWAY AS SHE HIGH FIVED THE FANS IN THE CROWD UNTIL SHE GOT THERE.

THEN OVER THERE ON THAT STAGE SHE SANG ANOTHER SONG AND THEN WITH ED SHEERAN SHE SANG THEIR DUO TO “EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED” WHICH I LITERALLY ADORE, AS THE PLATFORM CIRCLED SLOWLY SO EVERYONE COULD SEE THEM. THEN HE LEFT AND SHE SITTING DOWN SHE SANG “BEGIN AGAIN” AS THE PLATFORM RAISED IN THE AIR SO EVERYONE COULD SEE HER AND IT WAS PRETTY COOL. THEN SHE SANG ANOTHER OLD SONG OF HERS.

THEN WHILE SHE CHANGED FOR HER NEXT NUMBER A VIOLING GIRL CAME OUT AND PLAYED INTRUMENTALLY THE INTRO FOR “TROUBLE” WHICH TAYLOR CAME OUT DRESSED IN A WHITE UGLY VINTAGE GOWN THAT LOOK LIKE IT WAS MADE FROM PLEATED DRAPES (:) SORRY). THE NUMBER WAS PRETTY MUCH LIKE BRITAIN AWARDS PERFORMANCE CHANDELIERS, MASQUERADE DANCERS, AND THEN THEY STRIP HER FROM THAT UGLY COSTUME AND SHE IS LEFT WITH A LACED BLACK HIGH WAISTED PANTS AND COOL TOP. AFTER THAT SHE SANG “ALMOST DO” IN HER RED PIANO WHICH SHE GOT A LITTLE CHOKED UP ON… (I PERSONALLY THINK THIS WAS THAT TAYLOR LAUTNER BASED SONG…LOL 😉 ) THEN SHE CHANGED TO A WHITE DRESSED MUCH PRETTIER AND JUMPED OUT OF A MUSICAL BOX AND ITS NUTCRACKER STYLE DANCERS AND SANG “LOVESTORY”.

THE SHE CHANGED AGAIN INTO BLACK TOP WHITE SKIRT AND SANG “TREACHEROUS” LIKE SHE WAS A GYMNAST AND SHE WAS IN A LOVE CLIFFHANGER BEING HUNTED BY EVIL CLOWNS AND RABBITS (YEAH..). THEN SHE CHANGED ONE LAST TIME INTO A RINGLEADER WITH A TOP HAT AND CANE IN HAND AND DID HER BIG FINALE SONG “WE ARE NEVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER” WHICH WAS AWESOME IT WAS A CIRCUS THEMED SHE THEN CIRCLED 360 DEGREE IN A STAGE PLATFORM AND THEN CONFETTI FLEW OUT AND AROUND THE WHOLE ARENA.. AND I PICKED UP AND SAVED SOME FOR SCRAPBOOKING SAKE, AND YEAH IT WAS FUN!!

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT MY REVIEW ON “TAYLOR SWIFT’S THE RED TOUR 2013 FT ED SHEERAN” IN ORLANDO, FL AT AMWAY CENTRE ON APRIL 11TH,2013. IT WAS MY FIRST TAYLOR SWIFT AND ED SHEERAN CONCERT, AND I WAS PLEASED AND HAPPY. I LOVED THE DANCERS, COSTUMES, STAGE. I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOOD, AND IM THANKFUL THAT SHE BROUGHT ED TO TOUR WITH HER BECAUSE THEN I HAD PLEASURE AND OPPORTUNITY TO GO SEE HIM AND EVEN MEET HIM (CHECK THE NEXT POST ON HOW I MET HIM ;).

WICKED: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL- MY REVIEW

Dear Fashionminies!

How have you all been? Its been an amazing start in this new year all from January till now. As I have told you all before this year I will be bringing on reviews on the latest concerts I have attended or planning on attend during 2013. Also new photoshoots, new styling ideas, and so much more. I had also mentioned I had been taking guitar lessons, which I can proudly say theyre going pretty darn good so far. Its so much fun, and I love music so much. Music, Arts, Fashion everything is big part of my life therefore I like to share it with all of you. Just like the story and review I am going to share with you now of WICKED: The Broadway Musical.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the story of “WICKED” its based on a novel by the amazing author Gregory Maguire. Wicked is what is considered as the prequel to the famous story of “The Wizard of Oz.” In “Wicked” you get to know deeper in detail about both witches who are Galinda who is known as Glinda the Good Witch, and Elphaba who is known as the Wicked Witch of the West. In the story it explains how these two unlikely girls become best friends and the challenges they will have to face together in the Emerald City as they make their way to find Oz. And it also has a good point on love, good, bad, and all the good stuff. The Broadway of NYC production for this play was nominated for 10 Tony awards in 2004, and in fact they won three of those nominations:From Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design to Best Actress in a Musical for Idina Menzel, who played the Wicked Witch of the West: Elphaba.

So on Saturday the 23rd, my cousin’s friend couldn’t attend to the performance of WICKED: The Broadway Musical that was being held here in Orlando, Florida at the Bob Carr. She offered the tickets to my cousin who immediately invited me knowing that I am a huge “WICKED” the novel fan. Of course I said yes without hesitating. It was a blessing sent from above, being that I have been wanted to see this play for what seems like forever, due to the fact that I wasn’t able to attend last year since it sold out all shows. Being so of popular and high demand they decided to bring it back to Orlando this year. Tickets ranged in various prices but Orchestra level being the most expensive. So my cousin got the tickets and after work we immediately drove in less than 30 minutes to the venue trying to find parking and walking fast about 10-15 minutes before the show started. We made it just in time. No food on my stomach since breakfast I was super hungry but my excitement was so built up that the hunger was the last thing my mind, well almost ;).

When we looked at the tickets and we saw where our seats where located I almost fainted, they were orchestra level they were the third row almost dead center away from the stage. It was amazing view, and experience to see a play from. As I sat there my heart raced and there was lovely curtain that represented the Emerald City with little lights on it.

As they played started I felt like I was being slowly taken in to the Emerald City and on my way to find Oz along with the characters. The storytelling through the performance of the actors, who were also dancers and singers was beautiful. The costume design, lighting, music, and staging were impeccable. The songs, and lyrics were a classic. Everything was spot on and you could tell it was a Broadway production. My favorite actress of the night was the girl who played Elphaba she had an outstanding voice! But they all did great. I definitely recommend a high GO watch it if you haven’t yet. Its an experience of a lifetime.

The merchandise were expensive as heck though but a souvenir its always a must for me no matter what. Because to me it represents the experience, a memory. So I got a pen, socks with both witches on it, and a programme that inside has all the information of WICKED: The Musical all around the world, and name, photos, and information of the actors and actresses who have made history. Which is pretty cool! They also carried tops, keychains, soundtracks, and other things but too much high a cost. 😦
